~ Sean

“StormBringer reminds me of quite a few writers doing ‘classic’ fantasy in the ‘90s in their early works (Weiss and Hickman). I was impressed!”

The Second Soul

~ Kendall

“The world building is incredible! Your characters, even the bad guys, are so well written that sometimes I swear I know what they will say or do. I fell in love with all your characters.”

The Heart of Isgradine

~ Scott

“You evoke such emotion its hard not to get attached to the characters right away. Watching them develop over the course of the series makes me look forward to what comes next.”

Good Day!

T’was foretold you would scroll this far!

Don’t mind my goofball side coming out. There’s plenty of little quirks we all have. I just tend to display mine more often then not.

My name’s Kaitlyn. (Yeah, that one squished between two great kids and a hunk of hubby.) Kat to my friends.

Congratulations, you’ve made a friend by just reading this far. In all honesty though, I tend to be a rather outgoing and easygoing creature.

After two crazy-ass girls entering my life (my two kids), there’s nothing to be beyond easygoing. Oh, for sure and certain, I’ve got a Mom streak and face. Boy, do they know it too. But I promise not to use it on you.

Thanks again for checking my author page out!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where Can I Find Your Books?

Online! In a library! I wish I could say that you’ll find it in every Super Shopping Center or the big names like Barnes and Noble but I can’t… yet!

I am a self published author so its hard to get on those shelves like the big name publishers. We, indies can and do get there, I just haven’t made it, yet!

How Long Does It Take You to Write a Book?

“That, my friend, is a loaded question,” she says with a playful grin. Joking aside, writing a book isn’t the longest part. The trilogy that you see I wrote all three books in about a year while I was working at a massage studio, with one child and a second on the way. (For perspective, that was back in the plague year 2020.)

It took me three years to have StormBringer: The Isgradine Trilogy, edited, cover art organized, beta read, the published. I worked at about the same pace for the Second Soul and The Heart of Isgradine. By the time I was working on the last two, I was also working from home as a Copywriter which made my schedule easier to work around.

Do You Have Audiobooks or eBooks?

Yes! As a matter of fact I do have eBooks. Currently you can find them on Amazon Kindle. By the end of the first quarter, I intend to have them on several different sites for distribution.

Audiobooks, that’s another bridge that I’m in the process of crossing. Once I get them further underway I will be notifying everyone via my Newsletter since I know a good portion of people listen to Audiobooks as their way of reading.

Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?

Life. Experience. A mind that has always been deeply ingrained in other worlds and vast universes. A theme for my books is always exploring how people interact with their world and how the world interacts with them.

The Isgradine Trilogy, for instance, is all about the duality of a person and how, we as people, continually deny part of ourselves just to fit in and be what other people want us to be. There are plenty of other lessons in it and that adds to, certainly, but the overarching theme is self acceptance to achieve greatness.

Can I Get a Signed Copy?

Absolutely! Since I’m working on building my inventory at home I am more than happy to send you a signed copy. BUT I need you to email me directly for it since I don’t have my eCommerce portion of this business up and running yet.

Believe me, there’s a lot of hats that I wear when it comes to Kat Walden Works LLC and being a wife and mom. My eCommerce is on the list, just a few rungs down. :D

Why Do You Write Fantasy?

Because reality is boring! Well, parts are anyway. I have often seen a world that has elements of fantasy in it. I’ve been this way since I can remember really. While I understand and can cope with reality, my kids help me with this often enough with their antics, I love to see the world filled with magic.

The Isgradine Trilogy gives you a taste of my world between worlds. The next series I have in the works (ETA Summer of 2025, if I’m lucky!) introduces you to how I have always wanted to see the world. The mythical in reality. The magical in your ordinary, everyday life.
